In my capacity as AM I am happy and proud to support National Eye Health Week. I urge my fellow AMs to join with me in supporting this initiative and I urge all of my constituents, across North Wales, to book a sight test.
Research shows half of all sight loss is avoidable so I want to inspire my constituents to make some small lifestyle changes that could make a big difference to their vision and eye health.
I look forward to supporting #eyeweek as much as I can: raising awareness and looking forward to supporting proposals to increase the quality of eye health in Wales.
Each day during National Eye Health Week 19 – 25 September will focus on a different theme…
Monday General eye health
Tuesday Children’s eye health
Wednesday Diabetic retinopathy
Thursday Sight after sixty
Fr-eye-day Fundraising day
Saturday Nutrition and the eye
Sunday Smoking and sight loss
This year’s National Eye Health Week will take place 19 – 25 September 2015. The Week aims to raise awareness of the importance of good eye health and the need for regular sight tests for all. Visit www.visionmatters.org.uk for further information.
