Here’s my reaction to the resignation of my friend, colleague and leader Nigel Farage: “What can I say about Nigel Farage: cometh the hour cometh the man comes to mind. Nigel has stood up for his country time and time again. He has achieved what he set out to do and not many politicians can say that. For me it’s been an honour to work for and with Nigel on this journey and I’m proud to call him a friend.
For years politics was boring and unattractive to millions of people around the country and Nigel changed that: he made politics relevant and provided a voice for the people.
When Nigel walks into a room it becomes electric. The way people would just run to speak to him on the streets.
Nigel is a man who stood up and fought for his country in the European Parliament and any debate or media he took part in. He was somebody who was proud of his country and believed the people of this country deserved so much better.
All I can say now on behalf of myself and UKIP Wales is: thank you Nigel. Thank you for all your hard work on the referendum and for giving us a voice.”
Nigel Farage's greatest achievement will always be getting us our referendum to leave the EU. I salute his achievement. #IndependenceDay
